Why does the Merciful God Allow Children to Starve to Death?

The photo above was posted on the blog, Debunking Christianity this morning.  The title John Loftus chose with the photo is, “Does God Answer Prayer?

A subtitle might be, ‘If there is a loving God, why does he/she/it permit 23,000 of his creation to die each day from starvation?”

The Christian Apologists quickly turn to page 39 of their pamphlet, ‘Quick Answers to Devastating Questions.’

The comment [tongue-in-cheek] on Debunking Christianity comes from the pamphlet:

“Well, its their free will to be born in … oh, no, um, its probably because they’re going to become really evil in the… oh, no, not 23000 EVERY day… um, oh yeah, this’ll work, HE MOVES IN MYSTERIOUS WAAAAAAYYYYSSSS (big reverb sound at the end)…

  1. Hello Muddy,
You are so silly. This is obviously a liberal who just won’t get up and find work or create his own job…You know the kind that just looks for handouts from the government to take care of them from, “Womb to the Tomb.”

What you are looking at is a “Christmas Miracle” where those who pray that God takes vengeance on those who just want everything handed to them. I bet AIDs started in his country which probably makes this person gay too. What you have a photo is proof that God has answered those good Christian Conservative’s prayers.

Now if we could just kill off a couple of those Liberal Democratic Senators we will not have a national health care bill in this country.

  2. Hello Muddy,
Yes, “Tongue-in-cheek,” on my part but the sad fact is; I just used statements that the Fanatical Right Wingers, i.e. Rush, Hannity, O’Riley, etc. say about the poor in this country.

One more I could add is what was said when Katrina hit New Orleans. The conservatives were saying, “They should not have been living in an area like that in the first place.” So by default, “The person in the photo should not be living in an area that would allow him to starve. He should move to a place where there is a lot of food. You see, it is his fault in the first place.”

To these people my friend, that is their application of good Christian Values. Merry Christmas everyone.
