Witches in the Neighborhood

imageSalem, Massachusetts Colony 1640. Witches everywhere! KILL THEM! BURN THEM!

And they did. Today tourists visit Salem and the Witch Museum to hear stories of the religious fanatics who ‘believed’ that some women and girls in their community were witches. Fortunately today we do not do this and few modern folks believe in the existence of witches.

Yet I heard of a Catholic parish in Michigan whose pastor ‘believes’ in witches and has even seen one or two snatch the communion bread and take it to use in, I guess, some ritual.

I contacted the pastor of this parish to give more details of the “witches in the neighborhood.” I will update this when I hear more.
