Why America is in a Downward Spiral: Rep. Louie Gohmert

gohmert: Any stupid, foolish or obtuse public official. Origin: Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), one of the stupidest individuals ever to set foot in the U.S. Capitol an elected representative. [Urban Dictionary]

GOHMERT: And I know the president made the mistake one day of saying he had visited all 57 states, and I’m well aware that there are not 57 states in this country, although there are 57 members of OIC, the Islamic states in the world. Perhaps there was some confusion whether he’d been to all 57 Islamic states as opposed to all 50 U.S. states. But nonetheless, we have an obligation to the 50 American states, not the 57 Muslim, Islamic states. Our oath we took is in this body, in this House. And it’s to the people of America. And it’s not to the Muslim Brotherhood, who may very well take over Egypt and once they do, they are bent upon setting up a caliphate around the world, including the United States. And this administration will been [sic] complicit in helping people who wants [sic] to destroy our country.

GOHMERT [on Affordable Care Bill]  It’s a bad bill. And then when you find out that the prior Congress not only passed that 2,800 page bill with all kinds of things in it, including a new president’s commissioned officer corps and non-commissioned officer corps. Do we really need that? I wondered when I read that in the bill. But then when you find out we’re being sent to Libya to use our treasure and American lives there, maybe there’s intention to so deplete the military that we’re going to need that presidential reserve officer commissioned corps and non-commissioned corps that the president can call up on a moment’s notice involuntarily, according to the Obamacare bill.

GOHMERT [arguing  for the elimination of the Congressional Budget Office, a nonpartisan research agency that has existed since the 1970s.]  “And despite the misinformation spewed on this floor, the fact is that when taxes have been cut, revenues go up — each time it’s been done. But we have such an ignorant way for CBO to operate, so for this political animal, and I know people say it’s bipartisan — baloney. CBO is not bipartisan.”

GOHMERT: [on terror babies]  I talked to a retired FBI agent who said that one of the things they were looking at were terrorist cells overseas who had figured out how to game our system. And it appeared they would have young women, who became pregnant, would get them into the United States to have a baby,” said Gohmert. “They wouldn’t even have to pay anything for the baby. And then they would turn back where they could be raised and coddled as future terrorists. And then one day, twenty, thirty years down the road, they can be sent in to help destroy our way of life. ‘Cause they figured out how stupid we are being in this country to allow our enemies to game our system, hurt our economy, get set up in a position to destroy our way of life.”

GOHMERT [on the Aurora Colorado shootings]

“Some of us happen to believe that when our founders talked about guarding our virtue and freedom, that that was important,” Gohmert said. “Whether it’s John Adams saying our Constitution was made only for moral and religious people … Ben Franklin, only a virtuous people are capable of freedom, as nations become corrupt and vicious they have more need of masters … We have been at war with the very pillars, the very foundation of this country.

“You know what really gets me, as a Christian, is to see the ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and then some senseless crazy act of terror like this takes place.”

“People say … where was God in all of this?” Gohmert continued. “We’ve threatened high school graduation participations, if they use God’s name, they’re going to be jailed … I mean that kind of stuff. Where was God? What have we done with God? We don’t want him around. I kind of like his protective hand being present.”

GOHMERT [on the Boston Marathon bombings]  I think it is due to internal guidance from the Muslim Brotherhood. It’s very clear to everybody but this administration that radical Islam is at war against us… Radical Islam is at war with us. Thank God for the moderates that don’t approve of what’s being done. But this administration has so many Muslim Brotherhood members that have influence that they just are making wrong decisions for America.

GOHMERT [on his proposed legislation re the White House]

“None of the funds made available by a division of this act may be used to transport the president to or from a golf course until public tours of the White House resume. That way we will both work together so the president will not able to take a golf outing that causes 341 more federal officials to be furloughed and lose their job at least temporarily.

GOHMERT [on a belief  children should not be forced to sit through sexual education classes that teach safe sex, HIV, STD]  “Let the kids be innocent. Let them dream. Let them, you know, play. Let them enjoy their life. You don’t have to force this sexuality stuff into their life at such a point. It was never intended to be that way. They’ll find out soon enough. Mankind has existed for a pretty long time without anyone ever having to give a sex-ed lesson to anybody. And now we feel like, oh gosh, people are too stupid unless we force them to sit and listen to instructions. It’s just incredible.”

By the way, from his official biography:

Today, he and his wife Kathy are the proud parents of three daughters. Their family attends Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, where Louie has served as a deacon and still teaches Sunday school.

  1. Do I need to go and get Latta’s quotes? My point is that you or I cant do
anything about a rep from Tyler, Tx. Our “guns” need to be turned our
own GOP reps. By “holding our fire” on them, are we not complacent in
permitting them to remain in congress?

  2. Yes, my friend, I’ll be ‘holding my fire’ on Latta, as I did in November. Do you know what is pathetically humorous about that guy? Many of his elderly constituents think he’s Delbert, his dad, as they vote for son Bob.

Of course, on the Dem side of this coin, many elderly central city folks keep voting for Phil Copeland, believing they are voting for Uncle Bill Copeland.

    Idiocy knows no political boundaries.

    1. Addendum: at a local Memorial Day parade Bob appeared but, in stead of riding in a car, with his name attached, he walked the route, not even waving to the attendees. He was, for all purposes, incognito. Further along the route past me, he was booed, reported the newspaper. Apparently his identity was revealed.

  3. in Cleveland? I’m on a laptop at McDs using the one one finger method, lol.

So tell me why should I purchase a tablet or IPad? You know me and technology! What about a smart phone?

You Yankees have left your gate open and sending a much appreciated frontal low from Detroit to Jackson. It’s 65 here and low humidity. High today
is to be 87 and not the 105s we have had with 100% humidity. Very unseasonable for this time of year!

  4. Latta is a “has-been” and of no more import than the ant crawling along the dirt pile. He’s an obtuse fraud enjoying his (our) $$$ and his feigned importance, while living the life that he disdains in others.

  5. So, is that any different than Latta and the rest of the GOP ilk? They do have “import” as they vote their stupid biases. You have to take him on!
I’m taking on my congressman; you can do the same. Seems like we could do that directly or indirectly by setting the stage for a Democratic Legislature and governor by the 2020 census. Oh my, did I say 2020 and our young age lol….
