The middle class falls further behind

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — The middle class is struggling to survive and shrinking before our eyes, the Pew Research Center reported on Wednesday.

“America’s middle class has endured its worst decade in modern history,” the Pew Research Center said in its report. “It has shrunk in size, fallen backward in income and wealth, and shed some — but by no means all — of its characteristic faith in the future.”

I’m back!

I’m mad!

I’m sick of blue collar workers voting for the GOP.  How stupid. It proves that professional propagandists [right-wing radio] can not only change people’s minds, but they can make people vote against their own economic interests.  Of course, I’ve said this before [many times] but today’s release of this research proves this pathetic hypothesis.

Wake up, white, blue collar workers and start THINKING. Think about how you are going to ‘save’ your middle class position before it completely evaporates.  STOP voting for the big corporation’s interests; stop voting for the big banks, for the insurance companies. Stop waiting for trickle down. The only trickle down you are going to get is a warm yellow liquid.

    1. Who? Of course you, I and everyone who comments here knows ‘who.’ These racial bigots are everywhere. But then, bigotry in general is not surprising at all. Just look at all of the nastiness going on within the Christian churches as each one puffs itself up as the ‘true’ church while the ‘other’ churches are heretical. Of course, this comes after declaring that other non-Christian religions are fraudulent. Bigotry rules the human race.

  1. Well, welcome back, M_R. Wish I could have good news from here but had my first of three physical exams and the results of the first arent all that
    promising….

  2. “I’m sick of blue collar workers voting for the GOP.”

Really now? It’s only been happening since 1968. While this has been
aided and abetted by both Dems and Reps, it became dominant with the
Presidency of Democrat Jimmy Carter. There is a new book just out on
the subject by Joan Walsh, the editor of Salon.com entitled “What’s the
Matter with White People”. And, it’s available on your Kindle for only $12.99! Liberals just keep pissing into the head wind!

  3. That’s my point! It has been habit so long now, that to win them back on a hope or a whim
is going to be almost impossible. That dog won’t hunt! Under the “gone fishin” post i made
a couple of ideas that helps to explain the problem, namely, that their belief system has
become inbued with fundamentalist religious beliefs. It doesn’t matter what we think about
that, it only matters that they can trust the word of God, while everying around them in their
    world is collapsing.

What is interesting to note, M_R, is the way southern evangelicalism has meshed with
mormonism and catholicism. And, to signify that development, here is the RR Ticket of
a Mormon and a Catholic, and it will sweep everything below the Mason-Dixon Line and
the Great Plains. Just a few years ago who would ever have thought that a Mormon-
Catholic presidential combination would be viable?

Here is an interesting factoid: 50% of all school children in Texas are Latino? This is why
Bush and Rove are in knots with RR immigration policies and the Republican Party
    Platform position on immigration.

    1. a Mormon and a Catholic, and it will sweep everything below the Mason-Dixon Line and the Great Plains.

Who would have guessed that, but apparently, ‘fundamentalism’ trumps all things. Really, I don’t understand how you can tolerate living in that cesspool of religious righteousness.

  4. On top of all that, M_R, wounderful wordpress won’t let me reply under
previous comment…Just to say I have been down with the the flu since Monday, can’t seem to shake it!

    1. Sorry about the flu which is why you [all] need to head North where the air is clean and relatively free of fundamentalist germs.

  6. Any way, why is it any better in Ohio. The other night on Rev. Al he had map of Ohio and it looked all RED, except for the Dayton area and the area
from Toledo thru Cleveland. Or put it this way what is the difference
between your Rep Latta and my Rep Price? Ditto with Sen Portman in
Ohio and Sen Cochran in MS?

    1. All of those RED counties are populated by 10- 30 thousand people whereas the BLUE counties hold +500,000. Luckily, there isn’t a state electoral college.

      Quinnipiac Poll 8/23: OH – 2012 Presidential Election: Obama 50% – Romney 44%

  7. Good news…the sword of Damocles has been lifted…Dr. just called and
the spot on my lung is nothing but an old age spot…They found a cat scan of my lungs from 2009 under my previous doctor who has retired, and it
    whowed the same spot.
