Beating Around the Bush

It is tiring to listen to the same old nonsense about President Obama. Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck and other clones [clowns] repeat the same stuff day after day about him.  It is as if the listeners need remedial lessons.  I ‘got it’ the very first time I heard their pitch.  Are others so ignorant that they need the ‘lesson’ repeated again and again?  Even those with double-digit IQ’s ought to have figured ‘it’ out by now.

There was a letter to the editor of the Toledo Blade this morning from a writer who, like me,”got it” a long time ago. Many of the readers of this blog “got it” many months ago too. The Tea Party crowd even has signs with “the lesson.”

Today’s letter to the editor ends with this precise point:

” Why is it that people lack the courage to complain about the one thing about the President that truly bothers them?”

Exactly!

And so I also ask, why do these people continue to ‘beat around the bush’ rather than coming out with the ‘one thing about the President that truly bothers them?’

  1. Conservative Republican fanatical hatred of Bill Clinton was irrational, too, but now that ther’s a black man in the White House, they’re REALLY irrationally foaming at the mouth!

These conservatives are so intolerant and narrow-minded that they’ll heap tons of abuse on anybody who isn’t just like them or doesn’t agree 100% with them, ESPECIALLY minorities.

These are very small-minded people who claim otherwise, but actually hate themselves as well as our democracy.

  2. Think of the Teabaggers as huge Pavlovian conditioning project…
The dog will always salivate when the preconditioned set of stimuli is applied.

Jack, I think you are correct in continuing to emphasis the conditioned hate of the “other” when referring to the teabag obstructionism. This is not about finding solutions, this is not about rationalism, this is purely about desiring and creating failure.

When Carter was president, he tried to deliver a message based on a sense of raional reality. He made himself a total outsider to the power based establishment and had to be destroyed. Even his version of Christianity had to be discredited because it was based on a rational world view, which was a present and immediate threat to the corporate and nascent neocons…his manyfactured failure and the continued discrediting of him is vital to keeping their fantasy alive.

  3. Muddy, you’ve stated before that you never listen to either Beck or, Limbaugh…what exactly is it that you’re tiring of hearing?
I grew tired of MSNBC (the biggest offender) who on nearly every other show hints that anyone who doesent like Obama or what he’s doing can only be racist. Which is why I always ask you if you have more than 1 channel on your tv.
What about all the independent voters AND democrats who voted for Obama who have been expressing their displeasures with what he’s doing? Did they just find out he was black and decide not to like him 2 years later?
Certainly there are folks out there who simply hate the guy for racist reasons. I’m not trying to say they don’t exist. However, if your news source is constanly ramming the idea home that “most” if not, all who disagree with Obama do so only for racial reasons, you’re being hoodwinked by a media with an agenda.
Also, at the corner of Angola rd and Reynolds, there was a black guy with an “impeach Obama” sign standing there day before yesterday…a “racist” too?

Jack, who and which conservatives are heaping abuse on minorities? Name some. You sound EXACTLY like the guy in my posting from this morning LOL!

  4. Hello Microdot,
You are correct with the statement, “continuing to emphasis the conditioned hate of the “other” when referring to the teabag obstructionism.”

As I have said earlier and can only speak for the Delmarva area, but the Teabaggers here are nothing more than the old Klansmen or their sons and daughters that have had their whole lives embedded with this mindset.

  5. I told my wife to read the editorial page, 4th letter to the editor, and only read the last line of his letter. She said, “OK, I read it.” I asked her, “Do you ‘get it’?” She said, “Of course!”

Sepp- you seem to be the only one here who ‘doesn’t get it.’ I wonder why that is?

  6. Also, at the corner of Angola rd and Reynolds, there was a black guy with an “impeach Obama” sign standing there day before yesterday…a “racist” too?
    Well, thar ya go…irreefutaball evidence.
Sepp, this post had nothing to do with those of us who have “expressed our displeasure” with Obama. If you actually read my blog and this blog…there is so much we “express our displeasure” about.
I do not understand what you are trying to defend, what your values actually are and what kind of constructive ideas you would present at this point in time.
How would we exit from Afghanistan, if that is a position you support with out creating a shitstorm of apocalyptic proportions in the conservative camp?
I would say Obama is damned if we stay in Afghanistan and the country is damned if he tries to exit in the present insane political climate.
Muddy has said over and aover again that he should be a one term president and focus on principled decisions, but, as I see it, he is in the position of trying to negotiate in an ocean of bullshit and much of what I consider bullshit is the totally negative attitude, which I think you try to fantasize as your rebellious crazy rebel spirit…but I see as just another totally corporately manipulated crap artist.
How would you propose to negotiate the path between Palinistic Oil Corporate deregulated bullshit and trying to develop a sane policy of energy and petro chemical exploitation?
What would we be dealing with if in fact, Palin and McCain were now running things? I admit that I truly believe that if McCain had been elected, he would not be “running things”.

  7. Did everyone catch President Obama’s Teddy – “Great White Fleet” moment the other day. 3 or 4 Ohio class boomers surfaced simultaneously in ports surrounding North Korea and China; a combined firepower of nearly 500 tomahawks. On the one hand I’m irritated at sort of the childish show of force – but then again, I obviously don’t have the intelligence reports that President Obama has.. but on the other hand I appreciate the moxy and historical symmetry with 1907. Also as I mentioned last week, Obama has placed another USMC expeditionary force in the waters surrounding Iran. I wonder if even one Chicken Hawk far right commentator will mention Obama’s saber rattling?

  8. Muddy, of course you would “get it” because you seem to measure everything in some type of racial formula. Is anyone capable of hating what Obama does in your world WITHOUT being subliminally racist in their conclusions? No.
It’s a built in excuse being used to justify labeling anyone in opposition and deflecting / detracting from a ligitimate arguement against his policies.
It’s a tactic pure and simple. If the opposition is easily branded as a “racist”…who will listen? And if they DO listen…who would dare repeat it?
Like the communist witch hunts of the 1950’s, the left has effectively made “racism” the new “communism” (which takes the focus away from their support of communism)…and look for ANYTHING and any excuse that could be construed or, misonstrued to paint opposing veiwpoints with.
So, I do “get it” muddy. Some people ARE assholes in the world…some. To paint anyone who disagrees as a racist just shows that kool-aid is cheap and easily consumed.

MD, “mild displeasure” would be a rung up the ladder on the anger scale as penned by you guys! We’ve been bantering back and forth together for…what? 6 or, 7 years(?!!!) I still remember the anger you used to have!
If Obama is acting like Bush…IMO, you should be just as pissed off! Sorry brother, I’m just not seeing it from you!

I’m hardly a corperate crap artist with a negative attitude for the sake of rebellion! A little bit of common sense goes a long way.
Green power? To hear you say it we should just stop drilling for the energy that powers this country and everything will turn out fine.
The reality is, that until green power technology is refined and made affordable to EVERY class, we’re stuck with antiquated oil and coal. Do you know why companies are drilling in the deepwaters away from the coast? Because the same folks who mock “drill baby drill” at every opportunity, are the same folks who made it nearly impossible to drill on the mainland! How long does it take to repair / clean up a problem with an onshore well? Had BP’s accident occurred on land instead of a mile under the ocean, how much of the environment would have been effected? Think on that!
As for McCain “running things”…I’m betting that I’d be seeing your former uncensored anger being directed at the same crap going on now!

Steve, the question you should be asking is if ANY leftist network or commentator will call it what it is…or even mention it…let alone add some personal indignation toward it!
If it were BUSH doing this, the left media would be reporting non-stop with adjectives such as “warmongering”, “provocative”, “incitefull”, etc.
During Clinton and now Obama…it’s merely “a show of force”.

So in other words, the same old same old…That is the lamest defense of “drill baby drill” I have ever heard and the lamest excuse for not investing in the GREEN POWER technologies that are already here and advancing everyday.

You are correct about the anger i would probably be spewing if Mccain was president, but to compare what that ultimate corporate whore would be responsible for to the dilemma of being Obama and dealing with the machinations of a crazed militant opposition of demented teabaggers and the power structure that supports and encourages them…

You as usual are not making any kind of sense to me…just spouting the same old same old….that’s why I am beginning to think that the only way to deal with your brain is stop taking you seriously.

  10. Yes MD, until the technology is refined to the point where green energy is reliable, sustainable and, affordable, we’re stuck with fossile fuels. But as with every new technology, it will get cheaper and more reliable…via free market competition!
Right now, it’s still unafordable to most people and it’s probably 10 years away from being purchasable for the average folks.
BTW, I have a ton of stock in plug power (plug) with is proton exchange technology and it’s only exhaust is steam. It’s still a ways out from replacing the grid but, is currently being tested on households that have been removed from the grid and utilize only the plug power unit and also in remote locations where the grid isn’t accessable.

And I expected your old anger would still be there if McCain were elected…but where is it now? The infailable Obama is using the Bush playbook and your “condemnations” have been namby-pamby at best.
Fear? Will you be a “racist” for disagreeing and suffer the wrath of your peers? Yesterday’s dissent is now today’s “racism”?

As for corperate whores, Obama is hardly some babe in the woods! I think the reason he waited so long to criticize BP is because he didn’t want to offend a major donor! If GE would have spilled something toxic…we’d still be waiting for him to open his mouth!

And of course I’m making no sense to you MD. It’s common sense…which you used to have and use quite often in the past!
